The essentials
Understand what happens during your visit.
Browse without signing up
You do not need a visitor account to read profiles, search the archive or explore categories. Functional browser storage supports features such as saved lists and form protections.
Keep a list in this browser
Favourites and comparison selections are remembered locally. They do not automatically sync between browsers or devices. Selected software IDs are sent to Monolith when the saved profiles are retrieved.
Choose whether ads load
Third-party advertising scripts load after you opt in for this browser. You can keep ads off, change that choice later and continue using the archive.
Cookies & local storage
What the site remembers.
Local storage keeps preferences on your device between visits. A session cookie helps the site maintain temporary request state. These serve different purposes.
- Favourites
- The software IDs you save, held in this browser so you can return to the same profiles.
- How to clear itRemove entries on the Favourites page or clear this site’s browser data.
- Comparison selections
- Up to three software IDs, held in this browser to build your comparison.
- How to clear itRemove selected products on the Compare page or clear this site’s browser data.
- Advertising choice
- Your allow-or-decline preference, held in this browser so the site can apply it on later visits.
- How to change itUse the advertising-preferences control below or on the Advertising page.
- Functional session
- A cookie identifies a temporary server session used for form protections, request limits and administrator sign-in where applicable.
- How it endsSession information expires according to the browser and server’s session settings.
Saved lists and the advertising choice have no expiry set by the site. They remain until changed, cleared or removed by the browser. Private browsing and browser storage settings can affect how long they last.
Optional advertising
A separate choice for third-party ads.
Monolith is configured to use Adsterra advertising placements. Before you opt in, the site keeps those advertising scripts inactive. Choosing to allow advertising enables the configured scripts in this browser.
Once enabled, advertising services may use cookies or other storage and process browser, device and network information, such as an IP address, to provide their services. Their own policies describe how that information is handled.
Read Adsterra’s privacy policy for the provider’s stated practices. Following an advertisement or an external source link takes you to a service with its own privacy arrangements.
Contact & corrections
When you send us a message.
The contact form asks for an email address, subject and message, with an optional name. An error report can also identify the software profile involved. The site stores the submission and its received date in the contact inbox so the enquiry or correction can be handled.
The form does not publish your message on the website. Our retention policy is to remove submissions once they have been handled and no later than 12 months after receipt.
Include the information needed to understand your enquiry. Avoid sending passwords, payment details or unrelated personal information. To ask about a message you have already sent, use the contact details and guidance below.
Website requests & external services
Information involved in delivering pages.
Search and routine requests
Search terms are sent to Monolith to return results and can appear in the page URL and browser history. Hosting systems may record routine request information, such as an IP address, requested address, browser details and time of access, for website operation, security and diagnosis. Log retention depends on the hosting configuration.
Links to other websites
Software profiles link to official product sites and reference material. Those websites receive your request when you visit them and apply their own policies. Monolith’s browser-storage controls manage this site’s preferences; they do not clear another website’s cookies or account information.
Practical controls
Manage what stays in your browser.
- Update saved selections.
Remove individual items from Favourites or Compare without changing your other preferences.
- Revisit advertising preferences.
Use the control above or visit the Advertising page. Each browser or device keeps its own choice.
- Clear site data when you need to.
Your browser’s site-data settings can remove saved lists, the advertising choice and session cookies. Clearing all site data may sign you out of the administrator area and the site will ask about advertising again where ads are configured.
Questions & requests
Ask about information you have shared.
Use our contact page for privacy questions or to request access to, correction of or removal of a contact submission. Include the email address used and an approximate submission date so the relevant message can be located. We may need to confirm that the request relates to your information.
